Our local Chapter of Philoptochos is dedicated to St. Helen who serves as our guide and intercessor. The Ladies Philoptochos serves not only our Orthodox Christian brothers and sisters, but all those who are in need within our local community and greater Long Island area. They work diligently to provide financial, medical and basic philanthropic assistance as Christ would to those sick or suffering. They are a vital part of our St. Nicholas community as all members strive for Christian service and love.

The life of the Orthodox Church perpetuates and fulfills the ministry of Jesus Christ. The close association between Christ and His Church is reflected in the images from the Scriptures which declare that Christ is the Head and the Church is His Body, and that Christ is the Bridegroom and the Church is His bride.
